Coordinated TeraGrid Software and Services (CTSS)View CTSS by Resource
View the status of kits, software and services on each resource. Compare resources using ctrl-click for multiple selections, or view all resources at once. Search by Need
Search for a resource based on research needs. Choose software and services, tasks or kits. CTSS comprises software packages and services implemented on various TeraGrid compute, visualization, and data resources. To facilitate research, CTSS software is grouped into task-oriented Capability Kits. Each kit implements a set of related capabilities based on the needs of researchers, such as running jobs, moving data, or computing remotely. The kits are organized on the basis of use cases, or tasks, that HPC users have identified as essential to their research. If a TeraGrid system implements a CTSS Capability Kit, that resource is guaranteed to support all of the use cases based on that kit. For detailed descriptions of each kit and some representative use cases, see the CTSS Kit Definitions page. All TeraGrid resources must implement the CTSS Core Integration Kit. This allows users to determine which other CTSS Capabilities are available from that resource. The flexibility of optional kit implementation allows Resource Providers to customize the CTSS configuration and maximize the potential of each resource. CTSS Capability Kits, including all related software and services, are installed, maintained, and supported by TeraGrid staff.
Organizing kits by use case enables researchers to easily find optimal computing environments without knowing system details like specific packages and version numbers. For those users who prefer or require such specifications, CTSS documentation supports searches based on software, kits, and hardware as well. Use the links in the first two columns above to either view the software available from each resource or to search for TeraGrid resources according to your needs. The third column contains helpful links to related information, including full descriptions of the CTSS Capability Kits, the TeraGrid Resource Catalog (where you can search and compare compute and visualization resources) and the HPC Software Repository (where you can discover third party scientific software available on TeraGrid that is not part of CTSS). One of the first things you should do when getting started with a new TeraGrid resource is make certain that your .soft file is set up properly. This ensures that TeraGrid software and services work as described in these User Support pages. See the SoftEnv section for instructions on resetting your .soft file to the TeraGrid default. Current version: CTSS 4. See previous versions of CTSS. |
