In addition to the "Common TeraGrid Software and Services" (CTSS) available on all TeraGrid resources, the UC/Argonne IA-32 Visualization Cluster also provides the Visualization TeraGrid Software Stack (VTSS), as well as other visualization software packages.
In order to make use of the VTSS and other visualization software, you should use SoftEnv to set up your environment. Do this by adding the appropriate keys to your .soft file.
Visualization Software SoftEnv Keys
Below is a table of the visualization software packages currently available on the UC/Argonne Visualization Cluster and all of their corresponding SoftEnv keys. Keys in BOLD type are the default versions for that software package.

PBS Tags on the UC/Argonne IA-32 Visualization Cluster
Because the UC/Argonne resource uses a single queue for both the IA-32 Visualization Cluster and the IA-64 Compute Cluster, jobs submitted to this resource should indicate the type of nodes that are requested through the use of PBS tags. These tags can be used when submitting a job to the scheduler, either directly or through the use of Grid submission tools. If no tag is specified, the node type for the job will default to IA-64 compute. The following table gives a listing of the available tags, along with a description on their meanings:
| PBS Tag |
Description of Nodes |
ia32-compute
ia32
viz |
The UC/Argonne IA-32 Visualization Cluster nodes
(Virtual frame buffer:4069x4096) |
| openviz |
Deprecated: The UC/Argonne IA-32 Visualization Cluster nodes
(While this tag is still honored for historical reasons, users are encouraged to use one of the above tags instead) |
ia64-compute
(default) |

(No graphics hardware) |
