Need Help?TeraGrid offers resources on multiple resource provider sites (RPs), each with their own security and authentication policies and their own conventions for assigning user names and passwords due to the policies of their parent institutions. Fortunately, the TeraGrid offers a TeraGrid-wide login that works across all resources and the User Portal via Single Sign-On and MyProxy. Your TeraGrid-wide password is managed through the User Portal. After Receiving the Account Information PacketThe Account Information Packet contains your TeraGrid-wide login and site-specific logins for each RP site where you have an allocation. There are a few steps to take to manage your passwords immediately after receiving your packet.
How to Change Your PasswordTeraGrid-wide PasswordChanging your TeraGrid-wide password is easy. Log in to the TeraGrid User Portal and click the My TeraGrid tab, then choose the Change Password menu option and submit the form. Your new password will be effective immediately for Single Sign-On at all sites and for the TeraGrid User Portal.Individual SitesWhile it is recommended and easiest to use Single Sign-On with your TeraGrid-wide login (Portal Password), you may need, at times, to reset your password for an individual site. Please see documentation for the particular RP site. POPSThe first time you requested an allocation, you probably created a POPS login. A link exists in the menu on the POPS Welcome page that opens a dialogue box for changing your POPS password. If you have received a TeraGrid allocation in the past, you may use your TeraGrid-wide login for the Partnerships Online Proposal System (POPS). How to Reset Your Password if You ForgetIf you have already changed your TeraGrid-wide password or any of your site-specific passwords and have forgotten it, you will need to have it reset to the default password that was sent to you in your Account Information Packet. Go to the Consulting tab of the TeraGrid User Portal to send a request to the Help Desk. Please be specific about which password needs to be reset to its default value. What to Do if You Lose Your Account Information PacketGo to the Consulting tab of the TeraGrid User Portal to send a request to the Help Desk to obtain a new packet with new default passwords. This will require a little time for verification and to generate new passwords. |
