Student Volunteers
Student Volunteers are needed for the TeraGrid '06 conference. Student volunteers will perform activities such as helping with setup/tear down, working at the registration desk, helping with tutorials, and directing attendees to various locations during the conference. You will be asked to work approximately 15 hours total during the conference (about 5 hours per day).
In return for your help, you will receive:
- free conference registration
- free housing during the conference, sharing a room with another student volunteer (non-local attendees only)
To apply, please send the following information to arns@purdue.edu:
- your name
- your major and year in school (ex: high school, freshman, Masters, PhD, etc)
- name of school where you are enrolled
- proof of current student status (for example, a copy of student ID or registration card with date or a note from a school official such as the registrar's office)
- whether you require housing during the conference
- a short statement (500 words or less) that explains your interest in TeraGrid and/or the TeraGrid conference, along with information about whether you have volunteered for other conferences, and any special skills you have that may be useful (ex. Networking, UNIX, programming, visualization programming, ability to speak a 2nd language or knowledge of sign language)
- please also have your advisor send a short email reference concerning your suitability to serve as a student volunteer
