TeraGrid Student Research Competition
Undergraduate and Graduate Students: Share Your Research!
The TeraGrid Conference poster session is an opportunity for students to share their research and network with professional colleagues at all levels. Undergraduates and graduate students are invited to showcase their research and creativity by submitting a poster abstract for the first annual TeraGrid Conference, June 12–15, 2006 in Indianapolis, IN. Posters are invited in all research and education areas consistent with the conference theme. Poster formats may involve graphic elements on poster board as well as laptops for presenting additional information (bring your own - laptops will not be provided.) Awards for the best posters and presentations will judged on the criteria below.
Poster Submissions
- Titles & abstracts are due May 12, 2006. Abstracts are limited to 150 words.
- All student authors should be highlighted with an asterisk next to their name.
- Students must be registered at an accredited US College or University.
- Twenty finalists will be selected present their posters at the TeraGrid Conference in June.
- Finalists selected for poster presentation will be notified by May 19, 2006.
- Conference registration fees will be waived for student finalists.
- Grand Prizes (2) will be awarded for the best undergraduate and graduate student posters.
Judging criteria
- Effective written and oral articulation of research goals, methods, findings to date, and possible future research directions
- Ability to clearly convey how TeraGrid contributed to the research, and
- Effective use of the presentation medium
Prizes
Two grand prizes will be awarded; one to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate. Winning students will receive an expense-paid trip to SuperComputing 2006—the premiere annual conference showcasing high performance computing—to be held November 11–17, 2006 in Tampa, Florida. In addition, top winners will each receive $500 toward research-related expenses.
