About the TeraGrid Logo
TeraGrid resource provider partners support some of the world's most powerful resources, enabling deep computation to catalyze scientific discovery. The downward arrow in the upper left of the logo represents this concept of deep insight. TeraGrid science gateway partners create discipline-specific cyberinfrastructure tools and environments, harnessing TeraGrid resources in a transparent fashion to support wide community access. The horizontal arrows in the upper right of the logo signify this broad impact of the science gateways program. TeraGrid is an open partnership of providers, users, and technologists creating an expanding service oriented, standards-based foundation for eScience. The circular arrow on which the deep and wide symbols rest symbolizes this foundation. The orientation of these logo components suggests the shape of a "T" (TeraGrid), with a hint of "G" (Grid) in the red circular arrow. A slight lean to the right indicates forward movement—dynamic progress. Guidelines for use of the TeraGrid logoThe TeraGrid logo was designed to visually represent the organization. Consistent use of the logo helps to unite the various TeraGrid partners, resources, programs, and projects under a common identity. Several versions of the TeraGrid logo are available online in .eps format. These files can be saved by using the right-click on your mouse and saving to a file on your computer.
When using the logo for print, Web, or other applications:
Because the logo will be used in a variety of circumstances, it sometimes may be desirable to accompany the logo with text that describes the TeraGrid’s role in a particular project, program, etc. (i.e. “powered by TeraGrid,” “TeraGrid resource,” etc.). Text should be presented in Din Medium or another compatible font. See http://www.ncsa.uiuc.edu/UserInfo/Resources/Hardware/XeonCluster/. The External Relations Working Group will be responsible for requesting corrections when improper use of the logo is identified.
